Jesus Lives By the Father - John 6:57

John the apostle shared how Jesus told the people looking for Him, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, dwells in me, and I in him”, and in chapter six and verse fifty-seven of his book, John shared how Jesus told the people, “I live by the Father” where we read:

As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eats me, even he shall live by me.

The verse reads,As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father:”. John began with the words, “As the living Father” or “in proportion and decree and according to the manner the full of vigor, strong, efficient, active, powerful and efficacious Heavenly Father God” “has sent me” which means “dispatched and assigned me, Jesus”, “and I live” or “and I, Jesus, am full of vigor, strong, efficient, active, powerful and efficacious” “by the Father” which means “through the means of the Heavenly Father God”. John shared how Jesus said He was “active, strong and powerful” like His “strong, active and powerful” Heavenly Father who “dispatched and assigned” Him.

The verse continues, “so he that eats me, even he shall live by me.” John added the words, “so he that eats me” which means “also and indeed the person whether male or female who consumes and devours me, Jesus”, “even he shall live by me” or “also and indeed that person whether male or female will be full of vigor, strong, efficient, active, powerful and efficacious through the means of me, Jesus”. John shared how Jesus said the person who “consumes and devours” Him will be “active, strong and powerful” like He is.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we learn how there is a great benefit to “consuming and devouring” Jesus. In other words, by believing and trusting in Jesus as a personal “Savior and Lord”, we bring into our lives the equivalent “strength and power” afforded to Jesus by His Heavenly Father God. God desires to “live” within people, and when they surrender their lives to His Son Jesus, they receive Him, His forgiveness, eternal life and abundant and powerful living. God created the world and everyone who lives within it. He knows the power and ability required to live within it. Those who are wise will “consume” of Jesus and receive the benefits of the power to live in His abundant way.

Next time John shares how Jesus tells the people, “this it the bread that came down from heaven”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
