Destroying Those Who Speak Leasing - Psalms 5:6

In Psalms chapter five David wrote, “you are not a God that has pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with you. The foolish shall not stand in your sight: you hate all workers of iniquity”, and in chapter five and verse six of Psalms David wrote, “You shall destroy them that speak leasing” where we read,

You shall destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

The verse begins, “You shall destroy them that speak leasing:” David began with the words, “you shall destroy them” which means “you, God, will perish, make go astray and exterminate all the people” “that speak leasing” or “who declare, converse with, command, promise, warn and threaten with lies, untruth, falsehood and deception”. David shared how God would exterminate everyone who utters lying, falsehoods and deceptive words.

The verse continues, “the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.” David added the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the One True God” “will abhor the bloody” which means “will detest, loathe and make as abominable the people who shed blood or cause deaths” “and deceitful man” or “and the treacherous, crafty and fraudulent people whether male or female”. David wrote how Jehovah God detests and loathes people who are murderous, treacherous and fraudulent.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how God will exterminate everyone who lies and tells falsehoods, and He loathes everyone who sheds the blood of others and is fraudulent toward them. In other words, anyone who is guilty of these sins will perish and are detested by God. This presents a big problem. Without a “Savior” everyone would be doomed. God's Son Jesus Christ was sent into the world to rescue people who were condemned, (See John 3:17), and without a personal relationship with Him, no one would be saved. God desires to provide redemption to all of mankind, and those who receive Jesus as their “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God. Let us praise the Lord for this warning about His character and surrender ourselves to Him before we encounter His loathing and extermination.

Next time David says, “I will come into your house in the multitude of your mercy”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
