The beloved physician Luke wrote about Jesus, “when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they tread one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware you of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy”, and in chapter twelve and verse two of his book Luke shared how Jesus said to His disciples, “there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known” where we read:
For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
The verse reads, “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed;” Luke began with the words, “for there is nothing covered” or “because, since and on account that there is not one thing that is hidden, secret or concealed”, “that shall not be revealed” which means “that will not be exposed, disclosed, made manifest and known”. Luke shared how Jesus said there is “not one thing” that will not be “disclosed or exposed”.
The verse goes on to say, “neither hid, that shall not be known.” Luke continued with the words, “neither hid” or “nor and not in any way concealed or kept secret”, “that shall not be known” which means “that will not be understood, perceived and clearly expressed”. Luke shared how Jesus said there is “not one thing” that is “kept secret and concealed” that will not be “revealed and exposed”.
When we meditate upon Luke's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus said there is not one thing that will be kept “hidden” and “concealed”. Everything that may be “known” and “exposed” will be, and though a person may believe they have “kept secret” some portion of their thoughts, actions and attitudes, none of them will remain “hidden”. God knows everything. He knows the thoughts people have, the actions people take and the attitudes of everyone, and He is able to expose them at any time. God sent His Son Jesus into the world because He is aware of the deepest, darkest secrets of every person, and because they need to be “saved” from those things, He allowed Jesus to be “crucified, buried and resurrected” so they may be forgiven and live with Him forever. Let all who read these words know there is nothing they do or say that is a “secret” that shall not be known.
Next time Luke shares how Jesus says to His disciples, “whatsoever you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
