Mightier than the Noise of Many Waters - Psalms 93:4

In Psalms ninety-three the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “Your throne is established of old: you are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves”, and in chapter ninety-three and verse four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters” where we read,

The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yes, than the mighty waves of the sea.

The verse begins, The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “the LORD on high” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God who is in an elevated place and lofty location” “is mightier than the noise” which means “exists as greater and more excellent, gallant, glorious, noble and worthy compared to the voice, sound and proclamation” “of many waters” or “pertaining to abounding, more numerous and exceedingly great water courses”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God exist in a greater and mightier place than the voice and proclamation of exceedingly great water courses.

The verse goes on to say,... yes, than the mighty waves of the sea. The Psalmist continued with the words, “yes, than the mighty waves” or “even so and indeed, compared to the greater and more excellent, gallant, glorious, noble and worthy breakers” “of the sea” which means “belonging to the large bodies of water such as the Red, Dead and Mediterranean Seas”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God is greater and more excellent than the gallant breakers in the “sea”.

When consider the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist knew Jehovah God to be stronger, more powerful and with greater ability than the roaring waters and waves within the bodies of water on the earth. This same God created the world and everything within it, and He desires to have a personal relationship with us. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield ourselves to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and show Himself to be greater than any mighty “wave” that rises against us.

Next time the Psalmist says, “your testimonies are very sure”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
