From the World's Beginning - John 9:32

The apostle John wrote how Jesus saw a man who was born blind and healed him by making clay, anointing his eyes and instructing him to wash in the pool of Siloam. The “blind man's” neighbors brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind”, and after much questioning of the blind man and his parents, the formally blind man proclaimed, “Why herein is a marvelous thing, that you know not from where he is, and yet he has opened my eyes. Now we know that God hears not sinners: but if any man be a worshiper of God, and does his will, him he hears, and in chapter nine and verse thirty-two of his book John shared how the formally blind man said, “it was not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind” where we read:

Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.

The verse reads, “Since the world began was it not heard ... John began with the words, “Since the world began” which means “from the unbroken age and perpetuity of time on the earth” “was it not heard” or “was the following unheard, not learned or discovered”. John shared how the formally blind man proclaimed the following event was never heard about from the beginning of the earth.

The verse goes on to say, “... that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. John continued with the words, “that any man” which means “that any person whether male or female” “opened the eyes” or “unfastened and unloosed the physical eyes” “of one that was born blind” which means “belonging to a person who was birthed and engendered without sight”. John shared the formally blind man that “no one” had ever “unfastened” the physical eyes of anyone who was born without sight.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we learn how fascinated this formally blind man was by the miracle Jesus performed upon him. No one had ever heard about a person who was “born blind” being made able to “see” by another person. Jesus did what no one else could do. God sent His Son Jesus to be the “Christ and Messiah” to the world, and anyone who believes and trusts in Him will be saved from their “spiritual blindness” and enjoy a personal relationship with Him. Jesus died upon the cross and was raised from the dead three days later so the sins of people who believe in Him may be forgiven, and they shall receive everlasting life with Him. Those who are wise will study the miracles and words of Jesus who came to be the “Savior and Lord” of the world and yield their lives to Him.

Next time John shares how the formally blind man says, “if this man were not of God, he could do nothing”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
