Bringing Forth in Old Age - Psalms 92:14

In Psalms ninety-two the Psalmist said, “those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God”, and in chapter ninety-two and verse fourteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “they shall still bring forth in old age” where we read,

They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

The verse begins, They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; The Psalmist began with the words, “they shall bring forth fruit” or “they, the people who are planted in the house of the LORD, will continue, be persistent and repeatedly increase and flourish” “in old age” which means “with gray hair and advanced years”. The Psalmist said the people who are “planted in the house of the LORD” shall continue to flourish when their have grown old.

The verse continues,they shall be fat and flourishing; The Psalmist added the words, “they shall be fat” or “they, the people who are planted in the house of the LORD, will exist as vigorous and stalwart” “and flourishing” which means “and luxuriant, fresh or green”. The Psalmist said the people who are “planted in the house of the LORD” will also exist as vigorous and luxuriant when they grow older.

When consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the people who abide in the dwelling place of Jehovah God, and he said when these people grow older, they will continue to prosper, bear fruit and flourish. God wants us to prosper for all our lives, and even when difficulties and afflictions arise, we learn to have a full dependance upon Him. God loves us, and He proved it by sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. When we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make us to be “fat and flourishing” even when our hair turns gray.

Next time the Psalmist says, “to show that the LORD is upright”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
