Judgment Shall Return Unto Righteousness - Psalms 94:15

In Psalms ninety-four the Psalmist said, “the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance” and in chapter ninety-four and verse fifteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “but judgment shall return unto righteousness” where we read,

But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

The verse begins, But judgment shall return unto righteousness: The Psalmist began with the words, “but judgment” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover justice, ordinance, process, procedure and litigation” “shall return” which means “will turn back, repent and be restored, refreshed and repair” “unto righteousness” or “toward what is morally and legally right, just, normal, equitable and prosperous”. The Psalmist shared how justice and litigation would turn back and be restored to what is morally and legally right and equitable.

The verse continues, and all the upright in heart shall follow it. The Psalmist added the words, “and all the upright in heart” or “and each, every, the whole and everyone of the straight, right, pleasing and correct within their inner man, mind, will, understanding and soul” “shall follow it” which means “will pursue and engage with the judgment that has returned to righteousness”. The Psalmist said people who are straight, right and correct in their souls and minds will pursue the judgment that has “returned unto righteousness”.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist said justice and litigation would turn back to what is legally right and correct, and everyone who is pleasing to God within their souls and minds would pursue it. God loves people, and He provides and protects them with His perfect law and governance. When we seek Him with our whole souls and minds, we will realize He has sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so we can be forgiven and live with Him forever. This world and the judgment within it shall return to God's righteousness, and we have the opportunity to seek after His ways through a relationship with His Son Jesus.

Next time the Psalmist asks, “who will rise up for me against the evildoers?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
