God Coming to Judge the Earth - Psalms 96:13

In Psalms ninety-six the Psalmist said, “Say among the heathen that the LORD reigns: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof. Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice”, and in chapter ninety-six and verse thirteen of Psalms the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “comes to judge the earth” where we read,

Before the LORD: for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth:

he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

The verse begins, Before the LORD: for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth: The Psalmist began with the words, “before the LORD” or “in front of the face and countenance belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”: “for he comes” which means “because, since and on account that he, Jehovah God, leads, carries in and enters”, “for he comes” or “because, since and on account that he, Jehovah God, leads, carries in and enters” “to judge the earth” which means “to govern over, vindicate, decide controversy and rule over the land, ground, district, territory, region and world”. The Psalmist said God's creation would rejoice in the face of Jehovah God because He will enter the “world” and rule and reign over it.

The verse goes on to say,he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. The Psalmist continued with the words, “he shall judge” or “he, Jehovah God, will govern over, vindicate, decide controversy and rule over “the world” which means “the land, ground, district, territory, region and earth” “with righteousness” or “by the use of justice, rightness and what is morally and ethically equitable”, “and the people” which means “and the human beings whether male or female” “with his truth” or “by the use of his, Jehovah God's, firmness, fidelity, steadfastness and steadiness”. The Psalmist declared that Jehovah God would govern over and rule the “world” with justice and what is morally and ethically equitable according to His firmness, fidelity and steadfastness.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we discover how the Psalmist said Jehovah God is coming to rule and reign over the world according to His standards or “righteousness”. Although people often attempt to decide what is “right” or “wrong”, God knows the “truth”, and the world and everything within it will be “judged” according to His ways. God loves people, and He desires to have a personal intimate relationship with everyone through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins, errors, wrongs and mistakes of every person, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be a part of His creation that aligns with Him. If we refuse to receive Him, He will judge us according to His “truth” and no one will escape or be released from His standards of “righteousness”.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “the LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
