God Remembering His Mercy and Truth - Psalms 98:3

In Psalms ninety-eight the Psalmist said, “The LORD has made known his salvation: his righteousness has he openly showed in the sight of the heathen”, and in chapter ninety-eight and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “remembered his mercy and his truth” where we read,

He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel:

all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

The verse begins, He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: The Psalmist began with the words, “he has remembered” or “he, Jehovah God, has been mindful, recounted and marked so as to be recognized” “his mercy” which means “his, Jehovah God's, kindness, goodness and faithfulness” “and his truth” or “and his, Jehovah God's, firmness, fidelity and moral security” “toward the house” which means “to the dwelling place, home or temple” “of Israel” or “belonging to Israel whose name means God strives or he will rule as God and is the name given to Jacob and his posterity”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God has been mindful of His goodness, kindness and faithfulness as well as His firmness and fidelity toward the dwelling place of “Israel”.

The verse goes on to say,all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. The Psalmist continued with the words, “all the ends” or “to the cessation, extremity and uttermost part” “of the earth” which means “belonging to the land, ground, territory, region, district and world” “have seen the salvation” or “have observed, noticed, discerned, perceived and distinguished the deliverance, liberation and rescue” “of our God” which means “belonging to our, the Psalmist and his people's, Divine ruler, judge and Supreme God”. The Psalmist said the entire world has observed the rescue and deliverance of Jehovah God.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist continued to enumerate the works of Jehovah God for which those reading and hearing his words should sing. God's goodness, kindness and faithfulness are available for everyone to see, and because He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, “the ends of the earth” may observe His “salvation” plan. Anyone who humbles themselves, turns from their sins and believes and trusts in Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins, granted everlasting life and be a part of sharing the “good news” of God's “salvation” throughout the world. Let us join the Psalmist and make known the wonderful deliverance and rescue offered by Jehovah God and turn as many people as possible to the only person who is able to save them – Jesus.

Next time the Psalmist says, “make a joyful noise unto the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
