The LORD Will Not Cast Off His People - Psalms 94:14

In Psalms ninety-four the Psalmist said, “The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. Blessed is the man whom you chasten, O LORD, and teach him out of your law. That you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be dug for the wicked” and in chapter ninety-four and verse fourteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD will not cast off his people” where we read,

For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

The verse begins, For the LORD will not cast off his people, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “for the LORD” or “because, since and on account Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “will not cast off” which means “shall in no way or manner leave, forsake, reject or abandon” “his people” or “his, Jehovah God's, human beings whether male or female”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would in no way forsake or abandon His “people”.

The verse goes on to say,... neither will he forsake his inheritance. The Psalmist continued with the words, “neither will he forsake” or “no and not in any way shall he, Jehovah God, leave, depart from, neglect or apostatize” “his inheritance” which means “his, Jehovah God's, portion, heritage and possession”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would not leave nor neglect His heritage and possession.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist declared that Jehovah God would not reject or abandon His “people”, nor would He in any way leave or depart from them. God loves His people, and He will watch over, provide and protect them according to His purposes and will. He wants everyone to believe and trust in His Son Jesus as their “Savior and Lord”, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind to prove it. When we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and receive His promise that He will never leave nor forsake us. (See Hebrews 13:5)

Next time the Psalmist says, “but judgment shall return unto righteousness”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
