Israel Shall Cry Unto God - Hosea 8:2

In the book of Hosea, Hosea said, “Set the trumpet to your mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law”, and in chapter eight and verse two of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said, Israel shall cry unto me where we read,

Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know you.

The verse begins, Israel shall cry unto me,, ...” Hosea began with the word, “Israel” whose name means “God prevails” and is “the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob” “shall cry unto me” which means “will call out, summon and make a loud proclamation to me, Jehovah God”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God said the nation of “Israel” would loudly proclaim the following words to Him.

The verse continues, ... My God, we know you.” Hosea added the words, “my God” or “my, Israel's, Supreme Deity and True God”, “we know you” which means “we, the nation of Israel, perceive, see, discern, recognize and confess you, Jehovah God”. Hosea shared how the nation of Israel would shout aloud that they perceive and recognize Jehovah God.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Hosea how the people of “Israel” will call out loudly for Jehovah God, and they will proclaim that they discern and recognize Him. God loves the nation of “Israel”, and He will listen to their cries. He wants to have a personal relationship with everyone in this manner, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind to make that possible. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put within us a knowledge of Him that will not only sustain us in this life, but also in the eternal life to come. (See John 17:3)

Next time Hosea shares how Jehovah God says, Israel has cast off the good, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
