Made to Dwell in Tabernacles - Hosea 12:9

In the book of Hosea, Hosea shared how, “Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labors they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin”, and in chapter twelve and verse nine of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God saidI that am the LORD” ... “will make you to dwell in tabernacles where we read,

And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tabernacles,

as in the days of the solemn feast.

The verse begins, And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tabernacles, ...” Hosea began with the words, “and I that am the LORD your God” or “and I, who exist as Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God your, Ephraim's, Supreme Deity and One True God” “from the land of Egypt” which means “separate and apart from the country, territory, region and district belonging to Egypt whose name means land of the Copts and is a country at the northeastern section of Africa, adjacent to Palestine, and through which the Nile flows” “will yet make you” or “shall still and moreover cause you, Ephraim” “to dwell in tabernacles” which means “to remain and abide within transient tents, homes and habitations”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God referred to the time He brought “Israel” out from the country of “Egypt”, and after all their rejection of Him, God would still cause them to abide and remain in tents and dwelling places.

The verse goes on to say, “as in the days of the solemn feast. Hosea continued with the words, “as in the days” or “similar and in likeness to the divisions and periods of time” “of the solemn feast” which means “pertaining to the appointed meeting place or meeting of shelters”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God said He would cause the people of “Israel” to abide within tents similar to the time of their “feast of meetings or tabernacles”. (See Leviticus 23:40-43)

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Hosea how Jehovah God continued to govern over the people of “Israel” even through they abandoned Him and His ways. God rescued them from slavery in “Egypt” and caused them to live in “tents” in the wilderness, and He would return them to this state even after their apostasy. God loves the people of Israel, and because they are the nation through whom all the world is to be blessed, He loves us as well. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put within us an appreciation and gratitude for His constant provision for us at all times.

Next time Hosea shares how Jehovah God says, have also spoken by the prophets”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
