Not Dwelling in the LORD's Land - Hosea 9:3

In the book of Hosea, Hosea said, “Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for you have gone a whoring from your God, you have loved a reward upon every corn-floorThe floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her, and in chapter nine and verse three of Hosea, Hosea said, “they shall not dwell in the LORD's landwhere we read,

They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land;
but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean
things in Assyria.

The verse begins, They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land;” Hosea began with the words, “they shall not dwell”  or “they, the people in the nation of Israel, will in no way or manner remain, abide and inhabit” “in the LORD's land” which means “within Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God's, territory, region, country and earth”. Hosea shared how the people of “Israel” will in no way or manner abide within “Jehovah God's” country and territory.

The verse goes on to say, but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria. Hosea continued with the words, “but Ephraim” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover Ephraim whose name means double ash-heap or I shall be doubly fruitful and was the name sometimes used for the northern kingdom” “shall return” which means “will go or come back” “to Egypt” or “toward Egypt whose name means land of the Copts and is a country at the northeastern section of Africa, adjacent to Palestine, and through which the Nile flows”, “and they shall eat” which means “and they, the people of Israel, will consume and devour” “unclean things in Assyria” or “impure, defiled and polluted foods within Assyria whose name means a step”. Hosea shared how the people within the nation of“Israel”, also known as “Ephraim” would go back to “Egypt” and “Assyria” and would be forced to consume impure and defiled foods within the land of “Assyria”

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Hosea how the people of “Israel” also known as “Ephraim” would be forced to return to “Egypt” for their lack of sufficient food and drink, and within Assyria, they would be forced to consume foods that were religiously defiled for them. When people turn away from a personal relationship with Jehovah God through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, they bring upon themselves mental, physical and emotional difficulties that did not need be in their lives. When we yield to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put within us a desire to worship Him and Him only because He will supply our every need. (See Philippians 4:19)

Next time Hosea says, “they shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
