In the book of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said, “I will not execute the fierceness of my anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of you: and I will not enter into the city. They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west”, and in chapter eleven and verse eleven of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said, “they shall tremble as a bird”where we read,
They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria:
and I will place them in their houses, says the LORD.
The verse begins, “They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria:” Hosea began with the words, “they shall tremble” or “they, the children of Ephraim, will quake, move about, be afraid, be startled and terrified” “as a bird” which means “similar to a flying fowl” “out of Egypt” or “from Egypt whose name means land of the Copts and is a country at the northeastern section of Africa, adjacent to Palestine, and through which the Nile flows”, “and as a dove” which means “and similar and in likeness to a dove bird or pigeon” “out of the land of Assyria” or “from the region, territory, district and land belonging to Assyria whose name means a step and is the name for the land occupied by Asshur”. Hosea shared how the children of “Ephraim” would be startled and quake similar to a flying foul coming out of “Egypt” and a “dove” departing from “Assyria”.
The verse goes on to say, “and I will place them in their houses, says the LORD.” Hosea continued with the words, “and I will place them” or “and I, Jehovah God, shall put, set and establish them, the people of Ephraim” “in their houses”which means “within their dwelling places, habitations and abodes”, “says the LORD” or “utters, declares and proclaims Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God said He would establish the people of “Ephraim” within their dwelling places.
When we consider Hosea's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God would rescue the people of “Ephraim” from the areas of “Egypt and Assyria”. God was to bring “Ephraim” back to their homes even through they forsook Him and worshiped other gods and idols instead of Him. God loves the people of “Ephraim or Israel”, and He loves us as well. He proved His loves when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to enjoy living and dwelling with Him for all eternity.
Next time Hosea shares how Jehovah God says, “Ephraim compasses me about with lies”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
