Hot as an Oven - Hosea 7:7

In the book of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said of Ephraim, “In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners. For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleeps all the night; in the morning it burns as a flaming fire, and in chapter seven and verse seven of Hosea, Hosea said, they are all hot as an oven where we read,

They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges;

all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that call unto me.

The verse begins, They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges;” Hosea began with the words, “they are all hot as an oven” or “they, the royal rulers and leaders within Ephraim and Samaria, exist as warm, passionate and inflamed similar and in likeness to a stove, fire-pot or furnace”, “and have devoured” which means “and have eaten, consumed and burned up” “their judges” or “their, the people of Ephraim and Samaria's, governors, law-givers and litigators”. Hosea shared how every one of the royal rulers and leaders within Ephraim and Samaria were inflamed like a furnace, and they consume their law-givers and keepers of the commandments.

The verse goes on to say, all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that call unto me. Hosea continued with the words, “all their kings” or “each, every, the whole and everyone of their, Ephraim and Samaria's, royal rulers and leaders” “are fallen” which means “exist as cast down, failing, wasted away and inferior”: “there is none among them”or “there exists not one royal ruler or leader in the midst or middle of them, Ephraim and Samaria” “that call unto me”which means “who shout aloud, summon or give invitation to me, Jehovah God”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God said every one of the royal rulers and leaders within Ephraim and Samaria were cast down and not one of them gives an invitation to Him.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see through Hosea how Jehovah God was aware of the corruption that was within the leadership of Ephraim and Samaria. They were passionate toward their wickedness similar to a hot stove that awaits the baked goods or food, and every one of their royal leaders were cast down and without any summoning of Jehovah God in the midst of them. In other words, they were available for their corrupt acts and deeds which included consuming their “judges” and law keepers, but they avoided all communication with God. God loves people, and His desire is to have a personal, intimate relationship with everyone who will yield to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we put our faith and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put within us a desire to be passionate for Him, never consuming those who make righteous judgments over us and always calling out to Him to be in every circumstance and situation we encounter.

Next time Hosea says, Ephraim, he has mixed himself among the people, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
