A Prophet Brought Israel Out of Egypt - Hosea 12:13

In the book of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said, “Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep”, and in chapter twelve and verse thirteen of Hosea, Hosea said“by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt” where we read,

And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt,

and by a prophet was he preserved.

The verse begins, “And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, ...” Hosea began with the words, “and by a prophet” or “and through the means of an inspired spokesman or speaker” “the LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “brought Israel” or “withdrew, shot forth and made to ascend Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob” “out of Egypt” which means “separate and apart from Egypt whose name means land of the Copts and was a country at the northeastern section of Africa, adjacent to Palestine, and through which the Nile flows”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God delivered the people of “Israel” from the land of “Egypt” by means of an inspired spokesman, Moses.

The verse goes on to say, “... and by a prophet was he preserved. Hosea continued with the words, “and by a prophet”or “and through the means of an inspired spokesman or speaker” “was he preserved” which means “was he, Israel, kept, guarded, protected and saved”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God employed an inspired spokesman, Moses, to rescue and save the people of “Israel”.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how Hosea referred to the time when Jehovah God delivered the people of Israel out of the hand of Pharaoh of Egypt through Moses. (See Exodus 12-13) God delivered “Israel”. God saved “Israel”, and God preserved “Israel” because He loves “Israel”, and He loves us as well. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to realize through His Holy Spirit how He is for us, with us and willing to rescue, save and preserve us for all eternity.

Next time Hosea says, “Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
