God Loading Us with Benefits - Psalms 68:19

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “You have ascended on high, you have led captivity captive: you have received gifts for men; yes, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse nineteen of Psalms David said, “blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits” where we read,

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

The verse begins, Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, ... David began with the words, “Blessed be the Lord” or “praised, saluted and abundantly adored exists Adonay who is the reverent Master”, “who daily loads us” which means “who each and every sunset to sunrise and sunset to sunrise imposes a weight or lading upon us, David and his fellow countrymen” “with benefits” or “having recompense, dealings and rewards”. David said his reverent Master Jehovah God extended to him and his fellow countrymen recompense and rewards every day.

The verse goes on to say, even the God of our salvation. Selah. David continued with the words, “even the God” or “indeed and also the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “of our salvation” which means “pertaining to our, David and his fellow countrymen's, deliverance, liberation, health and welfare”. “Selah” or “exalt, lift up and pause to meditate upon it”. David said the Divine judge Jehovah God existed as he and his fellow countrymen's deliverance and liberation, and anyone reading or hearing David's words should pause to meditate upon this idea.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David acknowledged the daily blessings and rewards of Jehovah God who existed as the deliverer and liberator of him and his fellow countrymen. God's desire is to bless everyone with a personal relationship with Him. Jesus said, “Seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (See Matthew 6:33), and He wants everyone to make Him first in their lives by receiving Him as a personal “Savior and Lord”. When we submit our lives to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bless and liberate us every day of our lives on earth and also in Heaven to come.

Next time David says, “He that is our God is the God of salvation”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

God Ascending on High and Leading Captivity - Psalms 68:18

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse eighteen of Psalms David said God has, “ascended on high, you have led captivity captive” where we read,

You have ascended on high, you have led captivity captive: you have received gifts for men;

yes, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.

The verse begins, You have ascended on high, you have led captivity captive: you have received gifts for men; David began with the words, “you have ascended on high” or “you, Jehovah God, have gone up, excelled, been taken up and raise upon an elevated place”, “you have led captivity captive” which means “you, Jehovah God, have carried and brought away people who are prisoners and in captivity”: “you have received gifts” or “you, Jehovah God, have taken, fetched, laid hold of, seized and acquired presents and sacrificial offerings” “for men” which means “on behalf of mankind or human beings”. David said at the time when Jehovah God was raised to an elevated place, He released prisoners from captivity and He seized presents and sacrificial offerings on their behalf.

The verse continues, yes, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them. David added the words, “yes, for the rebellious also” or “even so and indeed, on behalf of the people who are stubborn, refractory and backsliding furthermore”, “that the LORD God” which means “so Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “might dwell among them” or “is able to settle down, abide and reside alongside of the stubborn and refractory as well”. David said Jehovah God would even so and indeed reside alongside people who are stubborn, refractory and prideful against Him.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through David when Jehovah God was raise to an elevated location, He freed prisoners from captivity and seized presents and sacrificial offerings on behalf of people. Jehovah God also dwells among the “stubborn and refractory” because He desires to convict them of their sins so they might turn their lives over to His Son Jesus. When we are in opposition to Jehovah God, He sends His Holy Spirit to “reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (See John 16:8), and through Him people become aware of their need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. God will forgive the sins of every person who believes and trusts in His Son Jesus who died on the cross for their sins, and we will give Him praise, honor and glory for all eternity for His wonderful blessings to those who believe.

The Chariots of God - Psalms 68:17

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David asked, “Why leap you, you high hills? this is the hill which God desires to dwell in; yes, the LORD will dwell in it for ever”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse seventeen of Psalms David said, “the chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels” where we read,

The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels:

the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

The verse begins, The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: David began with the words, “the chariots of God” or “the horsemen or troops who ride upon wagons or vehicles used for warfare belonging to the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “are twenty thousand” which means “twenty thousand vehicles used for warfare”, “even thousands of angels” or “indeed and also companies of messengers or envoys of Jehovah God”. David referred to the abundant amount of messengers and envoys possessed by Jehovah God who ride upon military wagons or vehicles.

The verse goes on to say,the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. David continued with the words, “the Lord is among them” or “Adonay or the reverent Master exists alongside them, the messengers and the thousands of vehicles used for warfare”, “as in Sinai” which means “in likeness to the mountain of Sinai whose name means thorny and was the mountain where Moses received the Law from Jehovah; located at the southern end of the Sinai peninsula between the horns of the Red Sea”, “in the holy place” or “within the sacred, apart, separate and hallowed location”. David shared how Adonay who is the reverent Master accompanies the thousand of messengers and envoys in the same manner as when He appeared in Mount Sinai which was a sacred and hallowed location.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn more about the power and ability of Jehovah God. David employed the idea of a spiritual military with vehicles prepared for warfare to express the wide scale defense of God, and no power on earth is able to resist Him when He goes to battle. This powerful, Almighty God desires to have a personal relationship with every person, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so we may have our sins forgiven and live with Him forever. God loves us, and He will use the spiritual powers of Heaven to defend all who surrender themselves to Him.

Why Leap You Hills? - Psalms 68:16

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse sixteen of Psalms David asked, “why leap you, you high hills?” where we read,

Why leap you, you high hills?

this is the hill which God desires to dwell in; yes, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.

The verse begins, Why leap you, you high hills? David began with the words, “why, leap you” or “for what reason and cause do you, high hills, look askant, be jealous and watch stealthily”, “you high hills” which means “you peaks, rounded summits and mountain peaks”? David asked why the mountains watched stealthily over the people of Israel.

The verse continues, this is the hill which God desires to dwell in; yes, the LORD will dwell in it for ever. David added the words, “this is the hill” or “herein lies the mountain or range of hills” “which God desires” which means “wherein the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God wants, covets, takes pleasure and delights in” “to dwell in” or “to remain, sit, abide and stay within”; “yes, the LORD” which means “even so and indeed, Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “will dwell in it for ever” or “shall abide, remain and stay within it, the hill, perpetually, enduringly and everlasting”. David declared the mountain of the Divine judge Jehovah God to be the rising that He wants to live within, and Jehovah God shall abide within His mountain perpetually.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David questioned the watching of the “hills” of God because Jehovah God not only desires to abide within it, but actually does. God will live forever, and He steadily watches over the activities of mankind. He invites every person to receive His Son Jesus into their lives because He died on the cross for their sins. When we surrender to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life, watch over us and allow us to live with Him perpetually.

The Hill of God - Psalms 68:15

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse fifteen of Psalms David said, “the hill of God is as the hill of Bashan” where we read,

The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.

The verse begins, The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; David began with the words, “the hill of God” or “the mountain belonging to the Divine judge Jehovah God” “is as the hill of Bashan” which means “exists in likeness to the mountain belonging to Bashan whose name means fruitful and was a district east of the Jordan known for its fertility which was given to the half-tribe of Manasseh”. David said the mountain of the Divine judge Jehovah God exists in likeness to the mountain within the district named “Bashan” which was east of the Jordan.

The verse goes on to say,an high hill as the hill of Bashan. David continued with the words, “an high hill” or “a peak, rounded summit or mountain peak” “as the hill of Bashan” which means like unto the mountain belonging to Bashan whose name means fruitful and was a district east of the Jordan known for its fertility which was given to the half-tribe of Manasseh”. David added that God's “hill” was likened to the “rounded summit or peak” of the mountain in “Bashan”.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David exalted the high mountain of Jehovah God. God is above all other exalted places in the world, and because His power and authority is greater than any other, He is able to observe and conquer any opposition to Him. God loves people, and He knew there was a separation between Him and people because of the sin in their lives. “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (See Romans 6:23), and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let all who read and consider David's words discover God's omnipotence and receive His Son Jesus today.

Why Hast Thou Forsaken These?

Why Hast Thou Forsaken These

Oh little one of faith

Almighty God has beckoned thee

to save thee from thy fate

For far from Him and isolate

thy sin has caused thy state

His Son sent forth to remedy

to Him thou canst relate

Invite doth He to all who will

receive his gift of grace

his peace within without thy sin

relieved of guilt shamed face

But thou dost stand within thy pride

refuse reject His plan

not humbled low rejecting foe

of thy eternal stand

Forsaking Him to thy own death

apart from God for'er

in darkness sealed thy woeful choice

eternal fate despair

The Almighty Scattering the Kings - Psalms 68:14

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. Though you have lien among the pots, yet shall you be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse fourteen of Psalms David tells what happened, “when the Almighty scattered the kings in it” where we read,

When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.

The verse begins, When the Almighty scattered kings in it, ... David began with the words, “when the Almighty” or “at the time and moment the most powerful Shaddai Jehovah God” “scattered kings in it” which means “spread abroad, broke in pieces and dispersed royal rulers within the land”. David referred to the time and moment that the Almighty God dispersed and spread abroad the royal rulers within the desert and the land of Canaan.

The verse continues,... it was white as snow in Salmon. David added the words, “it was white as snow” or “the land was white in color and brightness like unto the snow from the sky which falls” “in Salmon” which means “in Salmon or Zalmon whose name means shady and was a wooded hill in Samaria near Shechem”. David said the land was white like unto fallen snow in the wooded hill in Samaria “when the Almighty scattered the kings in it”.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see through David how Jehovah God dispersed the royal rulers like a blowing snowstorm in the wooded hill in “Salmon”. God defends His own, and to have a personal relationship with God, we must believe and trust in His Son Jesus who was crucified on the cross for our sins. When we surrender to Him, we will be forgiven and granted everlasting life with Him in Heaven, and fulfill the words of Isaiah the prophet, “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, says the LORD.” (See Isaiah 54:17)
