In Psalms chapter sixty-six David said Jehovah God, “rules by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah”, and in chapter sixty-six and verse eight of Psalms David said, “O bless our God, you people” where we read,
O bless our God, you people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
The verse begins, “O bless our God, you people, ...” David began with the words, “O bless our God” or “O adore, praise and salute our, David and his fellow countrymen's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “you people” which means “you members, compatriots, countrymen, kinsman and kindred”. David instructed his fellow countrymen to adore, praise and salute their Divine judge Jehovah God.
The verse goes on to say, “... and make the voice of his praise to be heard:” David continued with the words, “and make the voice” or “and hear, listen to, perceive, obey and give attention to the noise and sound” “of his praise” which means “belonging to his, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, song or hymn of adoration, thanksgiving and laudation” “to be heard” or “to be listened to, consented to, perceived, understood and given heed”. David instructed his fellow countrymen to give attention to and loudly sing the song or hymn of adoration and thanksgiving to Jehovah God.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David instructed his fellow countrymen to join him in giving adoration and praise to Jehovah God, and they were to give attention to singing songs of honor, adoration and thanksgiving to Him. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and encourage us to “bless” and honor Him with songs of adoration and thanksgiving that shall last for all eternity.
Next time David shares how Jehovah, “holds our soul in life”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
