In Psalms chapter sixty-six David said, “Make a joyful noise unto God, all you lands: Sing forth the honor of his name: make his praise glorious. Say unto God, How terrible are you in your works! through the greatness of your power shall your enemies submit themselves unto you”, and in chapter sixty-six and verse four of Psalms David said, “all the earth shall worship you” where we read,
All the earth shall worship you, and shall sing unto you; they shall sing to your name. Selah.
The verse begins, “All the earth shall worship you, and shall sing unto you;” David began with the words, “all the earth” or “each, every, the whole and everywhere in the country, region, territory and world” “shall worship you” which means “will bow down, prostrate and humbly beseech you, Jehovah God”, “and shall sing unto you” or “and will make music with instruments and voices to you, Jehovah God”. David said the entire world will humbly beseech Jehovah God by making music with instruments and voices.
The verse goes on to say, “they shall sing to your name. Selah.” David continued with the words, “they shall sing” or “they, all the inhabitants in the world, will make music with their instruments and voices “to your name” which means “to your, Jehovah God's, reputation, fame and glory”. “Selah” or “exalt, lift up and pause to meditate upon it”. David said the people of world would use their voices to make worshipful music to the reputation, fame and glory of Jehovah God, and anyone reading or listening to his words should pause to meditate upon this idea.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how everyone in the world will give praise and adoration to Jehovah God, and they will break out in songs unto Him. They will make music with their voices to the reputation, fame and glory of Jehovah God. Paul the apostle wrote, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God” (See Romans 14:11), and oh what a celebration of music we shall hear as all the people in the world begin to “sing” to Him. God desires to have an intimate personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we submit to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and encourage us to break out in songs of praise to Him.
Next time David says, “come and see the works of God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
