In Psalms chapter sixty-three David said to Jehovah God, “My soul follows hard after you: your right hand upholds me”, and in chapter sixty-three and verse nine of Psalms David shares what happens to, “those that seek my soul, to destroy it” where we read,
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
The verse begins, “But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, ...” David began with the words, “but those” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the people whether male or female” “that seek my soul” which means “who look for, require, desire and request my, David's, inner man, mind, heart, will, appetite, living being, desire and seat of emotions and passions”, “to destroy it” or “to ravage, devastate, ruin and waste it, David's soul”. David referred to the people who sought for his inner being, heart, mind and will because they wanted to ravage and ruin it.
The verse continues, “... shall go into the lower parts of the earth.” David added the words, “shall go” or “will be lead, carried and brought” “into the lower parts” which means “in the lowermost and nether depths” “of the earth” or “belonging to the whole world”. David said the people who searched for his “soul” and wanted to ravage and ruin it would be lead and carried to the lowermost depths of the world.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David was pursued by people who desired to ravage and ruin him, however, David knew there would be a judgment for their acts and deeds that would lead them to the lowermost depths of the earth. Every person shall give an account to Jehovah God for their words, actions, deeds and attitudes in life, and because “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (See Romans 3:23), we all need a Savior. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, and when we believe and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. We certainly do not want to be like those who “shall go into the lower parts of the earth”, and we avoid this by yielding to Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”.
Next time David says, “they shall fall by the sword”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
