In Psalms chapter sixty-five David said to Jehovah God, “You crown the year with your goodness; and your paths drop fatness. They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side”, and in chapter sixty-five and verse thirteen of Psalms David said, “The pastures are clothed with flocks” where we read,
The pastures are clothed with flocks;
the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
The verse begins, “The pastures are clothed with flocks;” David began with the words, “the pastures are clothed” or “the pads or meadows wear, are dressed and arrayed” “with flocks” which means “with a multitude of small cattle, sheep and goats”. David said the meadows are abundantly filled with small grazing animals such as sheep and goats.
The verse goes on to say, “the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.” David continued with the words, “the valleys also” or “the vales, lowlands and open country even so and indeed” “are covered over” which means “are enveloped and overwhelmed” “with corn” or “with wheat or grain of any kind”; “they shout for joy” which means “they, the valleys will shout in applause with a war-cry, alarm of battle and triumph”, “they also sing” or “they, the valleys, even so and indeed render songs and melodies with their mouths”. David said the lowlands and open country are enveloped with wheat and grain which causes them to cry out in applause and singing unto Jehovah God.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see through David how the meadows are filled with grazing animals and the lowlands are enveloped in wheat which make a joyful noise of shouting and singing. God's creation speaks to the wonder and greatness of Him, and anyone who observes them should give Him praise and honor for His wonderful provision to people. God loves us, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us reason to give Him glory, honor and praise for His creation throughout all eternity.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “Make a joyful noise unto God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
