In Psalms chapter sixty-seven David said, “Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us”, and in chapter sixty-seven and verse seven of Psalms David said, “God shall bless us” where we read,
God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
The verse begins, “God shall bless us;” David began with the word, “God” or “the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “shall bless us” which means “will abundantly adore, praise and congratulate us, David and his fellow countrymen”. David said the Divine judge Jehovah God would abundantly adore and congratulate him and his fellow countrymen.
The verse continues, “and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.” David added the words, “and all the ends” or “and each, every, the whole and everyone of the extreme limits, uttermost and finalities” “of the earth” which means “belonging to the country, territory, region and world” “shall fear him” or “will be in awe, honor and have godly reverence toward him, the Divine judge Jehovah God”. David said the extreme limits of the world would be in awe and respect of Jehovah God.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David knew Jehovah God would so adore him and his countrymen that everyone in the world would be in awe and reverence of Him. God desires to “bless” people because He loves them. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cause others examining His blessings upon us to have reverence and awe of Him.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “let God arise, let his enemies be scattered”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
