In Psalms chapter sixty-six David said, “Make a joyful noise unto God, all you lands: Sing forth the honor of his name: make his praise glorious”, and in chapter sixty-six and verse three of Psalms David said, “How terrible are you in your works” where we read,
Say unto God, How terrible are you in your works!
through the greatness of your power shall your enemies submit themselves unto you.
The verse begins, “Say unto God, How terrible are you in your works! ” David began with the words, “say unto God” or “utter, declare and proclaim to the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “How terrible” which means “O how awesome, revered and respected” “are you in your works” or “are you, Jehovah God, within your, Jehovah God's, acts, deeds, labor, business, undertakings, enterprises and achievements”. David instructed his readers and listeners to tell the Divine judge Jehovah God that He is awesome and to be revered in His acts, deeds and undertakings.
The verse continues, “through the greatness of your power shall your enemies submit themselves unto you.” David added the words, “through the greatness” or “by means of the abundance, excellence and increased amount” “of your power” which means “pertaining to your, Jehovah God's, strength and might” “shall your enemies” or “will your, Jehovah God's, hating foes and adversaries” “submit themselves” which means “feign obedience, deny falsely and act deceptively their own selves” “unto you” or “toward you, Jehovah God”. David said the hating foes of Jehovah God will subject themselves to Him because of His power and might.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David wanted people to acknowledge and declare the awesome acts and deeds of Jehovah God. God subdues His hating foes by the abundance of His power and might because He is omnipotent. God desires to share His ability with everyone, and when we yield ourselves to His Son Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and deal with His hating adversaries any time He desires to do so.
Next time David says, “all the earth shall worship you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
