In Psalms chapter sixty-two David said, “In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God”, and in chapter sixty-two and verse eight of Psalms David said, “Trust in him at all times” where we read,
Trust in him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
The verse begins, “Trust in him at all times;” David began with the words, “Trust in him” or “have faith, confidence and security within the Divine judge Jehovah God” “at all times” which means “in each, every, the whole and everyone of the experiences, fortunes, occurrences and occasions”. David instructed his readers and listeners to put their faith and confidence within the Divine judge Jehovah God in every circumstance and situation that arises.
The verse goes on to say, “you people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.” David continued with the words, “you people” or “you, human beings both male and female”, “pour out your heart” which means “spill, shed and gush out your, the people's, inner man, mind, will, soul, inclination, resolution, determination, conscience and seat of emotions and passions” “before him” or “toward, in front and in the presence of the Divine judge Jehovah God”: “God is a refuge for us” which means “the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God exists as a shelter, hope and trust on behalf of us, David and his fellow countrymen”. “Selah” or “exalt, lift up and pause to meditate upon it”. David instructed his readers and listeners to share the thoughts and emotions within their souls and minds in Jehovah God's presence and realize that He is a shelter and hope for us, and this idea is worthy of pausing to meditate upon it.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David wanted his readers and listeners to put their faith and confidence in Jehovah God with whatever comes into their lives. They were to “gush out” their souls and minds to Him as they realized Jehovah God exists as a shelter, hope and trust for them. God loves people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins of everyone, and when we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and encourage us to “pour out” our hearts and minds to Him as we realize He is our shelter and hope regardless of what comes into our lives.
Next time David says, “Surely men of low degree are vanity”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
