Psalms chapter sixty eight begins with the heading, “To the chief Musician, A Psalm or Song of David” which breaks down, “to the chief Musician” or “to the preeminent, overseeing superintendent or chief choir director”, “A Psalm” which means “a poem or melody set to notes” “or Song” or “a musical ode” “of David” which means “belonging to David whose name means blessed and was the second king of Israel”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse one of Psalms David said, “let God arise, let his enemies be scattered” where we read,
Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered:
let them also that hate him flee before him.
The verse begins, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered:” David began with the words, “Let God arise” or “allow and permit the Divine judge Jehovah God to stand up, become powerful and come on the scene”, “let his enemies” which means “allow and permit his, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, hating foes and adversaries to” “be scattered” or “exist as dispersed, spread abroad and dashed to pieces”. David said to allow and permit Jehovah God to stand up, become powerful and come on the scene while His hating foes and adversaries are spread abroad and dashed to pieces.
The verse goes on to say, “let them also that hate him flee before him.” David continued with the words, “let them also” or “allow and permit the people both male and female even so and indeed” “that hate him” which means “who are utterly odious to him, the Divine judge Jehovah God” “flee before him” or “take flight, escape and disappear in front and in the presence of him, Jehovah God”. David said to allow and permit the hating foes and adversaries of Jehovah God to take flight and disappear from His presence.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew the presence and power of Jehovah God would put to flight anyone who was odious and hateful to Him. There is no power and authority like Jehovah God's, and whether physical or spiritual hating foes, they are all as nothing before Him. God loves people, and He conquered sin, death, hell and the grave when He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of the world. He was resurrected three days later and became the ruler over all hating foes and adversaries that were against Him. When we believe and trust in Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and readily conquer every hating foe that rises against us. Let Jehovah God and His Son Jesus be praised, honored and glorified for all eternity for their wonderful provision against all the hating foes we will ever encounter.
Next time David says, “as smoke is driven away, so drive them away”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
