In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yes, let them exceedingly rejoice”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse four of Psalms David said, “sing unto God, sing praises unto his name” where we read,
Sing unto God, sing praises unto his name:
extol him that rides upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
The verse begins, “Sing unto God, sing praises unto his name:” David began with the words, “sing unto God” or “make music with voices towards the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “sing praises” which means “use voices and musical instruments to make music of thanksgiving, celebration and exaltation” “unto his name” or “toward his, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, fame, reputation and glory”. David instructed his readers and listeners to make music with their voices and musical instruments to give thanks and honor to the fame, reputation and glory of Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “extol him that rides upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.” David added the words, “extol him” or “lift up, highly esteem and prize the Divine judge Jehovah God” “that rides upon the heavens” which means “who mounts upon the clouds” “by his name, JAH” or “through the means of his fame, reputation and glory, JAH which is a shortened form of Jehovah who is the existing one and the proper name for the One True God”, “and rejoice before him” which means “and exult, jump for joy and triumph in front and in the presence of him, Jehovah God”. David instructed his readers and listeners to lift up and highly esteem Jehovah God who mounts upon the clouds to be carried about, and they were to triumph and jump for joy in His presence.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David wanted his readers and listeners to lift up their voices in song with thanksgiving and exaltation to Jehovah God. They were to be joyful as they highly esteemed Jehovah who uses the clouds as his carrying coach. God is the Creator of the universe, and He is to be honored and thanked with our singing voices for His wonderful benefits extended to mankind. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins of everyone so they could be forgiven and inherit eternal life with Him. (See John 3:16) God loves us, and when we surrender to His Son Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, He will cleanse us of all unrighteousness and put a song in our hearts so we may forever enjoy joyfully singing in honor and thanks to Him.
Next time David says God is, “a father to the fatherless”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
