In Psalms chapter sixty-seven David said, “Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you”, and in chapter sixty-seven and verse six of Psalms David said, “then shall the earth yield her increase” where we read,
Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
The verse begins, “Then shall the earth yield her increase;” David began with the words, “then shall the earth” or “at that time will the country, territory, region and world” “yield her increase” which means “put, deliver, give and bring forth her, the earth's, produce, fruit or crop”. David said when the people of the world give praise, honor and thanksgiving to Jehovah God, the “earth” would respond with a deliverance of produce, crops and fruit.
The verse goes on to say, “and God, even our own God, shall bless us.” David continued with the words, “and God” or “and the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “even our own God” which means “indeed, also and exceedingly our, David and his fellow countrymen's, own Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “shall bless us” or “will salute, benefit and abundantly congratulate us, David and his fellow countrymen”. David said the Divine judge Jehovah God who belonged to him and his fellow countrymen would abundantly salute, benefit and congratulate him and his fellow countrymen.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how there is a direct relationship between the “earth” bringing forth an abundant harvest and praising Jehovah God. Jesus said, “But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (See Matthew 6:33), and God will abundantly supply for those who believe and trust in His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. God loves us, and He will “bless” us abundantly when we humble ourselves, repent of our sins and ask Jesus to come into our hearts. (See Romans 10:9-10) Let us give priority to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus as we take in the knowledge of the abundant harvest of the “earth” and the “blessing” that is promised to those who surrender their lives to Him.
Next time David says, “God shall bless us”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
