In Psalms chapter sixty eight David asked, “Why leap you, you high hills? this is the hill which God desires to dwell in; yes, the LORD will dwell in it for ever”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse seventeen of Psalms David said, “the chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels” where we read,
The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels:
the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.
The verse begins, “The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels:” David began with the words, “the chariots of God” or “the horsemen or troops who ride upon wagons or vehicles used for warfare belonging to the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “are twenty thousand” which means “twenty thousand vehicles used for warfare”, “even thousands of angels” or “indeed and also companies of messengers or envoys of Jehovah God”. David referred to the abundant amount of messengers and envoys possessed by Jehovah God who ride upon military wagons or vehicles.
The verse goes on to say, “the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.” David continued with the words, “the Lord is among them” or “Adonay or the reverent Master exists alongside them, the messengers and the thousands of vehicles used for warfare”, “as in Sinai” which means “in likeness to the mountain of Sinai whose name means thorny and was the mountain where Moses received the Law from Jehovah; located at the southern end of the Sinai peninsula between the horns of the Red Sea”, “in the holy place” or “within the sacred, apart, separate and hallowed location”. David shared how Adonay who is the reverent Master accompanies the thousand of messengers and envoys in the same manner as when He appeared in Mount Sinai which was a sacred and hallowed location.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn more about the power and ability of Jehovah God. David employed the idea of a spiritual military with vehicles prepared for warfare to express the wide scale defense of God, and no power on earth is able to resist Him when He goes to battle. This powerful, Almighty God desires to have a personal relationship with every person, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so we may have our sins forgiven and live with Him forever. God loves us, and He will use the spiritual powers of Heaven to defend all who surrender themselves to Him.
