In Psalms chapter sixty-three David said, “O God, you are my God; early will I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. To see your power and your glory, so as I have seen you in the sanctuary”, and in chapter sixty-three and verse three of Psalms David said, “your lovingkindness is better than life” where we read,
Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.
The verse begins, “Because your lovingkindness is better than life, ...” David began with the words, “Because your lovingkindness” or “since and on account that your, Divine judge Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “is better than life” which means “exists as more pleasant, good, agreeable, rich and valuable compared to living and being active”. David said the reason he desired to observe Jehovah God's “power and might” was on account that His goodness and kindness are more valuable than living.
The verse continues, “... my lips shall praise you.” David added the words, “my lips” or “my, David's, language and speech” “shall praise you” which means “will laud, commend, boast and triumph in you, Divine judge Jehovah God”. David said his speech and language would be used to boast and give honor to Jehovah God.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David knew the “lovingkindness” or “grace” of Jehovah God was extremely important, and because it was extended toward him, he employed his words to give honor and commendation to Him. God wants to extend His “lovingkindness” to everyone, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind to prove it. When we yield ourselves to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will give us His grace, forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him.
Next time David says, “thus will I bless you while I live”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
