In Psalms chapter sixty-three David said, “those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes”, and in chapter sixty-three and verse eleven of Psalms David said, “the king shall rejoice in God” where we read,
But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that swears by him shall glory:
but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
The verse begins, “But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that swears by him shall glory:” David began with the words, “but the king” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the royal ruler” “shall rejoice in God” which means “will be glad, exult and be gleesome in the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”; “every one” or “each, all, the whole and everyone” “that swears by him” which means “who adjures, takes an oath and makes a declaration by God” “shall glory” or “will praise, be boastful, celebrate and shine”. David said the royal ruler, David himself, would be glad in the Divine judge Jehovah God, and every person who takes an oath by Him will celebrate and shine.
The verse continues, “but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.” David added the words, “but the mouth” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the orifice in the face used for drinking, eating and speaking” “of them that speak lies” which means “of the people whether male or female who utter, declare and proclaim falsehoods, deceptions, deceits and wrong” “shall be stopped” or “will be shut up, given over and surrendered”. David said the “mouths” of people who utter falsehoods and deceits would be surrendered and halted.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we realize that even though wicked people wanted to destroy and ruin David, he would be glad in his relationship with Jehovah God. This would be David's salvation and deliverance while people who utter falsehoods would be shut up by Him. God loves us, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, and when we surrender to Him, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and Jehovah God shall attend to those who speak falsehoods about us.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
