All Our Days - Psalms 90:9

In Psalms ninety Moses said to Jehovah God, “we are consumed by your anger, and by your wrath are we troubled. You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your countenance”, and in chapter ninety and verse nine of Psalms Moses said, “all our days are passed away in your wrath” where we read,

For all our days are passed away in your wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

The verse begins, For all our days are passed away in your wrath: Moses began with the words, “for all our days” or “because, since and on account that each, every, the whole and everyone of our periods of time” “are passed away” which means “exist as turned back, empty and banished” “in your wrath” or “within your, Jehovah God's, outpouring, overflow, excess, fury, outburst and arrogance”. Moses said every one of his and the people's “days” were empty and banished within Jehovah God's fury.

The verse continues, “we spend our years as a tale that is told . Moses added the words, “we spend our years” or “we, Moses and the people, accomplish, consume, determine, finish and complete their divisions, measures and indications of time in years” “as a tale” which means “like and similar to a rumbling, growling, moaning, mourning, lamentation and woe” “that is told” or “that is spoken, uttered, declared or proclaim”. Moses said he and the people with him consume the years of their life similar to a lamentation and woe that is uttered and proclaimed.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how Moses referred to how brief his and the people's lives were on the earth. He felt like they lived only a short time within the fury of Jehovah God, and this caused them to lament and mourn similar to a story that is spoken. God knows our time on earth goes by quickly, and His desire is to have an eternal personal relationship with us. (See James 4:14) He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to “redeem” our time for eternal purposes that shall never pass away. (See Ephesians 5:16 and Colossians 4:5)

Next time Moses says, “the days of our years are threescore years and ten”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
