You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your countenance.
The verse begins, “You have set our iniquities before you, ...” Moses began with the words, “you have set our iniquities” or “you, Jehovah God, have placed, put, fixed, stationed and constituted our, Moses and the people with him's, perversities, depravities, faults and mischiefs” “before you” which means “in front and in the sight of you, Jehovah God”. Moses said Jehovah God fixed and stationed his and the people with him's perversities and faults in front of Him.
The verse goes on to say, “... our secret sins in the light of your countenance.” Moses continued with the words, “our secret sins” or “our, Moses and the people with him's, concealed, hidden and clandestine errors, wrongs, mistakes and missing of the mark” “in the light” which means “within the illumination, brightness and cheerfulness” “of your countenance” or “belonging to your, Jehovah God's, presence, front and face”. Moses said the clandestine and hidden errors and wrongs of him and the people were easily observed by the illumination of Jehovah God.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how Moses said God sees our sins. He knows every error and wrong we have committed, are committing and will commit, and yet, He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for them all. He invites us to receive His Son Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, and when we accept Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put away our sins, errors, wrongs and mistakes. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God who knows our sins but has made a provisions whereby we may be forgiven and cleansed from them.
Next time Moses says, “all our days are passed away in your wrath”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
