In Psalms ninety Moses said, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God”, and in chapter ninety and verse three of Psalms Moses said, “you turn man to destruction” where we read,
You turn man to destruction; and say, Return, you children of men.
The verse begins, “You turn man to destruction;” Moses began with the words, “you turn man” or “you, Jehovah God, caused to return, put back, release and relinquished human beings both male and female” “to destruction” which means “toward dust or being contrite”. Moses said Jehovah God relinquished human beings to be remorseful and apologetic.
The verse continues, “and say, Return, you children of men.” Moses added the words, “and say” or “and utter, declare and proclaim”, “Return” which means “turn back, refresh and be restored”, “you children of men” or “you offspring and descendants belonging to human beings both male and female”. Moses shared how Jehovah God called upon people to be restored unto Him.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how Moses said Jehovah God caused people to be remorseful and apologetic. His desire is for them to turn to Him for salvation and deliverance, and the same is true today. God loves people, and He proved His love by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to have an intimate relationship with Him because we have come to Him.
Next time Moses says, “a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
