From Everlasting to Everlasting - Psalms 90:2

In Psalms ninety Moses said, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations”, and in chapter ninety and verse two of Psalms Moses said, “from everlasting to everlasting, you are God” where we read,

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world,

even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.

The verse begins, “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, ... Moses began with the words, “Before the mountains” or “ere and in advance of the risings above the plains, the range of hills and hill country” “were brought forth” which means “were begotten, engendered and declared”, “or ever you had formed the earth” or “or in advance of you, Jehovah God, writhing, whirling and making to come forth the land, country, territory, district, region” “and the world” which means “and the entire habitable part of the globe”. Moses said the following was true before the time when Jehovah God engendered the “mountains” or made the world.

The verse goes on to say,... even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God. Moses continued with the words, “even from everlasting” or “indeed from long duration, futurity, everlasting, evermore, perpetually and unto perpetuity” “to everlasting” which means “to long duration, futurity, everlasting, evermore, perpetually and unto perpetuity”, “you are God” or “you, Jehovah God, exist as the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. Moses said Jehovah God existed from everlasting and evermore to everlasting and evermore.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how Moses said Jehovah God existed from “everlasting to everlasting” in advance of Him creating the world, fashioning the mountains and making everything within the earth. The idea behind the word “everlasting” is “to the vanishing point”, and we attempt to think back further and further in time until we can think no more, that is “the vanishing point”. Then we attempt to think in the future until we are unable to think no more, and that is the vanishing point. God exists eternally, and He created mankind for His pleasure. However, when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, sin came upon everyone. This sin separated us from a personal relationship with Jehovah God, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. He invites us to believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, and when we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to live with Him “from everlasting to everlasting”.

Next time Moses says, “you turn man to destruction”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
