Jesus' Words Shall Not Pass Away - Luke 21:33

The beloved physician Luke shared how Jesus spoke to His disciples, “a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees. When they now shoot forth, you see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise you, when you see these things come to pass, know you that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.”, and in chapter twenty-one and verse thirty-three of his book Luke shared how Jesus said, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilledwhere we read:

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

The verse reads,Heaven and earth shall pass away:” Luke began with the word, “Heaven or “he region above the sidereal heavens, the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings” “and earth” which means “and the world, arable land, ground, main land and earth as a whole” “shall pass away” or “will be averted and perish”. Luke shared how Jesus said both “Heaven and earth” will “perish” before His next words do.

The verse continues, “... but my words shall not pass away.” Luke added the words, “but my words” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover my, Jesus', sayings, utterances, concepts and idea” “shall not pass away” which means “will not in any way be averted or perish”. Luke shared how Jesus said His “utterances and saying” would never “perish” or cease to exist.

When we consider Luke's words in this verse, we learn the importance of Jesus' “words”. Though “Heaven and earth” will “perish”, Jesus said His “sayings” will outlast them. In other words, everyone who sees, reads or hears the “words” of Jesus should know what He says stands firm. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to pay for the sins of all mankind, and only those who put their faith and trust in Him will be “rescued” in this world and the one to come.

Next time Luke shares how Jesus says, “And take heed to yourselves … so that day come upon you unawares”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
