The Donkey Found as Jesus Said - Luke 19:32

The beloved physician Luke wrote how Jesus, “went before, ascending up to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, when he was come near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying, Go you into the village over against you; in the which at your entering you shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And if any man ask you, Why do you loose him? thus shall you say unto him, Because the Lord has need of him. And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them, and in chapter nineteen and verse thirty-two of his book Luke shared how Jesus' two disciples, “found even as he had said unto them” where we read:

And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

The verse reads, And they that were sent went their way, ... Luke began with the words, “and they that were sent” or “and the two disciples of Jesus who were dispatched and dismissed” “went their way” which means “departed, traveled and journeyed on their pathway”. Luke shared how Jesus' “two disciples” left where Jesus was to fulfill their mission to find the donkey.

The verse goes on to say, ... and found even as he had said unto them.Luke continued with the words, “and found” or “and discovered, came upon and recognized the young donkey” “even as he had said unto them” which means “in likeness and in the same manner as Jesus uttered, declared and proclaimed to the two disciples”. Luke shared how the “two disciples” discovered the “young donkey” just the way Jesus said they would.

When we think through Luke's words in this verse, we learn how the “two disciples” found the “young donkey” just the way Jesus told them. In other words, Jesus' words were fulfilled. God knows everything and everyone, and He is everywhere present, and nothing is a mystery to Him. When He declares something will be, it is as though it has already been. God knows without a “Savior” people are doomed to an eternity without Him. He used a simple “young donkey” in His deliberate plan to save mankind. Those who are wise will consider the purpose of Jesus who died upon the cross for the sins of all mankind, and He did so because He loves everyone. Let all who read these words carefully consider the plan and purpose of God and yield their lives to Him.

Next time Luke shares how Jesus' two disciples, “as they were loosing the colt, the owners … said … Why loose you the colt?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
