Miamin, Maadiah and Bilgah - Nehemiah 12:5

In the book of Nehemiah, Nehemiah said, these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra, Amariah, Malluch, Hattush, Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth. Iddo, Ginnetho and Abijah ...”, and in chapter twelve and verse five of Nehemiah, Nehemiah shared about, “Miamin, Maadiah and Bilgah, ...” where we read,

Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah

The verse reads, Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah Nehemiah began with the word, “Miamin” whose name means “from the right hand”, “Maadiah” or “adorned of JAH”, “Bilgah” whose name means “cheerfulness”. Nehemiah shared how Miamin, Maadiah and Bilgah” were also included in His list of “priests and Levites” who “went up with Zerubbabel”.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Nehemiah about another three men who were among the “priests and Levites” who returned from exile with Zerubbabel. Their names meant, “from the right hand” which depicts authority, “adorned of JAH” which speaks to being clothed upon by Jehovah God and “cheerfulness” which refers to inner joy. God wants us to know the authority, clothing of righteousness and joy that comes from being in a personal relationship with Him. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and He raised Him from the dead three days later so when we put our faith and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and place us in His Kingdom where He desires.

Next time Nehemiah shares about, “Shemaiah, and Joiarib and Jedaiah”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
