My Glory Singing Praise - Psalms 30:12

In Psalms chapter thirty David said, “Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be you my helper. You have turned for me my mourning into dancing: you have put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness”, and in chapter thirty and verse twelve of Psalms David said, “To the end that my glory may sing praise to you, and not be silent” where we read,

To the end that my glory may sing praise to you, and not be silent.

O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto you for ever.

The verse begins, To the end that my glory may sing praise to you, and not be silent.” David began with the words, “To the end” which means “in view and on account of the purpose, intent and for the sake” “that my glory” or “so my, David's, honor, dignity, splendor and reverence” “may sing praise to you” which means “might make music with a voice or musical instrument to you, Jehovah God”, “and not be silent” or “and in no way and not at all exist as still, dumb and made quiet”. David said that when Jehovah God turned his “mourning into dancing” and “put off” his “sackcloth, and girded him with gladness”, he knew his purpose and intent would be to honor Jehovah with the music of his voice or a musical instrument and never be quiet or still.

The verse goes on to sayO LORD my God, I will give thanks unto you for ever. David continued with the words, “O LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “my God” which means “my, David's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “I will give thanks unto you” or “I, David, shall worship, revere and shoot out praise to you, Jehovah God” “for ever” which means “perpetually, evermore and to everlasting”. David told Jehovah God he would praise, honor and revere Him throughout all eternity.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David responded to Jehovah God when He changed his perspective. God rescued David from his enemies and death, and He brought him “joy” for a “mourning” heart. David thought he could not give Jehovah God praise nor declare His truth from the grave, and he knew if he asked for the mercy and grace of God, He would provide them. God loves people, and His desire is to have an intimate personal relationship like this with every person. He gave His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and anyone who believes and trusts in Jesus will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God. One day, our life on earth will end, and we will enter into eternity. Those who yield themselves to Jesus will give praise, honor and glory to Jesus forever, but those who refuse and reject Him will spend eternity separated from God and dwell in everlasting destruction. (See Matthew 7:13)

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, In you, O LORD, do I put my trust, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
