God Loves Righteousness and Judgment - Psalms 33:5

In Psalms chapter thirty three David wrote, “the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth”, and in chapter thirty three and verse five of Psalms David said, “He loves righteousness and judgment” where we read,

He loves righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

The verse begins, He loves righteousness and judgment: David began with the words, “He loves righteousness” which means “He, Jehovah God, has deep affection for correctness, straightness and moral justice” “and judgment” or “and ordinance, procedure, litigation and rectitude”. David declared how Jehovah God is deeply affectionate toward correctness, moral justice and litigation.

The verse goes on to say,the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. David continued with the words, “the earth” or “the country, territory, district, region and world” “is full of the goodness” which means “is abundantly filled, satisfied and complete with the kindness, faithfulness and piety” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David wrote how the entire world is filled and complete with the kindness and faithfulness of Jehovah God.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through David how Jehovah God is greatly affectionate toward correctness and moral justice, and because He has “filled” the entire world with His kindness and faithfulness, we may be assured that no one is “getting away with” any unrighteous act they perform. God loves people, and He knows their attitudes, actions and ways, and because they are sinful, He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for those sins. Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (See John 3:16-17) and now anyone who believes and trusts in Him as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and granted eternal life with God. God's “goodness” fills the “earth”, and when we surrender our lives to Him, we will enjoy His “righteousness and judgment” through His Son Jesus Christ.

Next time David says, by the word of the LORD the heavens were made, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
