Evil Shall Slay the Wicked - Psalms 34:21

In Psalms chapter thirty four David wrote, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken”, and in chapter thirty-four and verse twenty-one of Psalms, David said, “Evil shall slay the wicked” where we read,

Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

The verse begins, Evil shall slay the wicked:” David began with the words, “Evil shall slay” which means “bad, disagreeableness, malignancy, unkindness and wickedness will kill, execute and put to death” “the wicked” or “people who are criminal, guilty of a crime, evil and hostile to God and guilty of sin”. David said that wickedness and unkindness will slaughter or eliminate people who are evil and hostile to God.

The verse goes on to say,and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. David continued with the words, “and they that hate” or “and the people whether male or female who are odious and as enemies to” “the righteous” which means “the just, lawful, correct and right” “shall be desolate” or “will exist as offended, guilty and incriminated”. David wrote how people who are odious toward those who are correct, lawful and right will exist as offended and incriminate.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through David how “malignancy and bad” will destroy and kill the people who have committed the same. Paul the apostle wrote, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap”, (Galatians 6:7) and we may be assured that God will reward people according to their wicked acts. God will judge every person, and when we put our faith and hope in His Son Jesus Christ who came into the world to be crucified for our sins, we will be forgiven and inherit everlasting life with God. People who commit wickedness against and “hate” the lawful and correct may be assured that God sees, God knows and God will bring justice upon them unless they receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”.

Next time David says, The LORD redeems the soul of his servants, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
