Let Your Mercy Be Upon Us - Psalms 33:22

In Psalms chapter thirty three David wrote, “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name”, and in chapter thirty three and verse twenty-two of Psalms David wrote, “Let your mercy, O LORD, be upon us” where we read,

Let your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in you.

The verse begins, Let your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, ... David began with the words, “Let your mercy” which means “allow and permit your, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness to be in existence, remain and continue”, “O LORD” or “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God”, “be upon us” which means “to exist on us, David and his fellow believers”. David appealed to Jehovah God to allow and permit His “goodness, kindness and faithfulness” to remain upon him and his fellow believers.

The verse continues,... according as we hope in you. David added the words, “according as” or “since and because” “we hope in you” which means “ we, David and his fellow believers, wait, expect and tarry in you, Jehovah God”. David wrote how he and his fellow believers waited for Jehovah God as they put their expectations in Him.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David desired that Jehovah God would extend His kindness, goodness and faithfulness upon Him and his fellow believers because they put their “hope” and expectations within Him. God loves to share His “mercy” upon everyone who will surrender their life to His Son Jesus. Jesus came to the earth to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we rely upon, cling to and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with God where we will give Him praise, honor and glory for all eternity.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, I will bless the LORD at all times, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
