A Brutish Man Does Not Know - Psalms 92:6

In Psalms ninety-two the Psalmist said, “O LORD, how great are your works! and your thoughts are very deep”, and in chapter ninety-two and verse six the Psalmist said, “a brutish man knows not” where we read,

A brutish man knows not; neither does a fool understand this.

The verse begins, A brutish man knows not; The Psalmist began with the words, “A brutish man” or “a stupid or foolish person whether male or female” “knows not” which means “does not perceive, discern, discriminate or distinguish by experience”. The Psalmist said the person who is foolish is without understanding concerning Jehovah God's acts, deeds and plans for them.

The verse continues, neither does a fool understand this. The Psalmist added the words, “neither does a fool” or “no and not in any way does a stupid fellow, dullard, simpleton and arrogant one” “understand this” which means “discern, perceive, observe, distinguish and have intelligence to Jehovah God's acts, deeds and plans”. The Psalmist said a person who is foolish and a simpleton does not perceive the wonderful acts, deeds and thoughts of Jehovah God.

When think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist consider the foolish person who does not perceive or understand that Jehovah God performs exceedingly great acts and deeds and has wonderful plans and purposes for their lives. God loves us, and He demonstrated His love toward us by sending His Son into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, (See Romans 5:8) and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring us into the understanding that He performs great and mighty deeds, acts and plans for our benefit for all eternity.

Next time the Psalmist shares about, “when the wicked spring as the grass”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
