LORD, How Great are Your Works! - Psalms 92:5

In Psalms ninety-two the Psalmist said, “you, LORD, have made me glad through your work: I will triumph in the works of your hands”, and in chapter ninety-two and verse five of Psalms the Psalmist said, “O LORD, how great are your works!” where we read,

O LORD, how great are your works! and your thoughts are very deep.

The verse begins, O LORD, how great are your works! The Psalmist began with the words, “O LORD” or “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “how great” which means “how magnified, important and powerful” “are your works” or “exist your, Jehovah God's, acts, deeds and doing”! The Psalmist exclaims in praise that Jehovah God's acts and deeds are magnified, powerful and important.

The verse goes on to say,and your thoughts are very deep. The Psalmist continued with the words, “and your thoughts” or “and your, Jehovah God's, devices, plans, purposes and inventions” “are very deep” which means “exist as extremely, abundantly and exceedingly profound”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's plans, purposes and inventions are extremely profound.

When meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist broke out in praise, honor and worship to Jehovah God. He praised Him for His marvelous acts and deeds, and He worshiped Him for His exceedingly profound plans and purposes. God loves us, and His acts, deeds and plans for us are always for our eternal best. When we realize God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind and believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and secure our eternal future. These acts alone are worthy of our praise and adoration, and still Jehovah God has done so much more for us. Let us join the Psalmist and give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God for His wonderful acts and extremely profound plans for us.

Next time the Psalmist says, “a brutish man knows not”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
