In Psalms chapter twenty David said, “The LORD hear you in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend you”, and in chapter twenty and verse two of Psalms David said, “Send you help from the sanctuary” where we read,
Send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion;
The verse begins, “Send you help from the sanctuary, ...” David began with the words, “Send you help” which means “extend and direct to you, people reading and listening to David's words, succor and aid” “from the sanctuary” or “apart and separate from the hallowed and holy place of God”. David wanted Jehovah God to dispatch aid to people who were in trouble from His holy and set apart place for worship.
The verse goes on to say, “.... and strengthen you out of Zion;” David continued with the words, “and strengthen you” or “and to support, sustain and uphold you, readers and listeners of David” “out of Zion” which means “from Zion whose name means parched place and was another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”. David desired that Jehovah God also “support and sustain” his readers from out of His Holy city Zion or Jerusalem.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David wanted Jehovah God to be the aid-giver and the one who sustains the people who were listening to him. God is our resource, and He designed the salvation of mankind which is received by believing and trusting in His Son Jesus. Anyone who submits to Him will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God in Heaven, and we are wise to give Him praise, honor and glory for dispatching His “help” and “strength” from the places He has designated as holy.
Next time David says, “Remember all your offerings”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
