The LORD Saves His Anointed - Psalms 20:6

In Psalms chapter twenty David said, “We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all your petitions”, and in chapter twenty and verse six of Psalms David said, Now know I that the LORD saves his anointed” where we read,

Now know I that the LORD saves his anointed;

he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

The verse begins, “Now know I that the LORD saves his anointed; David began with the words, “Now know I” which means “Henceforth, straightway and at this time I, David, perceive, recognize, admit and confess” “that the LORD saves” or “that Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God delivers, liberates and makes victorious” “his anointed” which means “his, Jehovah God's, Messiah, patriarchs and kings”. Because David was aware of Jehovah God's fulfilling his and the people's desires according to His will, David proclaimed that He rescues and liberates His “consecrated” people.

The verse goes on to say,he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. David continued with the words, “he will hear him” or “he, Jehovah God, will respond to, answer and testify” “from his holy heaven” which means “separate from his, Jehovah God's, holy, sacred and set apart abode” “with the saving strength” or “by the use of the deliverance, rescue, safety, welfare and prosperity” “of his right hand” which means “belonging to Jehovah God's right hand of authority and power”. David declared that Jehovah God would respond and answer to His anointed one from His sacred dwelling place by the use of the liberating power and authority in His right hand.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David understood that Jehovah God would rescue and save His anointed king, and He would respond to him from His sacred “heavenly abode” by the use of the liberating power within His authoritative right hand. God loves to save and rescue people from the penalty of sin which is eternal separation from Him. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and anyone who believes and trusts in Him as their “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God. Praise be unto God for His mighty salvation work and willingness to deliver us by His mighty “right hand” from His abode in “heaven”.

Next time David says, we will remember the name of the LORD our God, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
