In Psalms chapter twenty-one David wrote about Jehovah God caring for the king and said, “you have made him most blessed for ever: you have made him exceeding glad with your countenance”, and in chapter twenty one and verse seven of Psalms David said, “the king trusts in the LORD” where we read,
For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
The verse begins, “For the king trusts in the LORD, ...” David began with the words, “For the king” which means “because, since and on account that the royal ruler and judge, David himself” “trusts in the LORD” or “has faith, confidence and safety in Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David shared the reason he was “blessed for ever” and “made exceeding glad with God's countenance” was because he put his faith and confidence in Jehovah God.
The verse goes on to say, “... and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.” David continued with the words, “and through the mercy” or “and by way and means of the goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “of the most High” which means “belonging to the upper, Highest and Supreme God” “he shall not be moved” or “he, king David, will in no way or manner totter, be overthrown and greatly shaken”. David declared by way of the Highest Supreme God's goodness and faithfulness he would never be overthrown or greatly shaken.
When we consider the words in this verse, we realize how David had confidence within Jehovah God, and He knew that it was by God's goodness and faithfulness that he would never be greatly shaken. God's desire is to have a loving relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when they submit to Him, He will forgive them of their sins and grant them everlasting life. When we yield ourselves to Him, He protects and watches over us, and for all eternity we shall give Him praise and honor for making us stable and secure by His great “mercy”.
Next time David says, “You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
