In Psalms chapter twenty David desired that Jehovah God, “Grant you according to your own heart, and fulfill all your counsel”, and in chapter twenty and verse five of Psalms David said, “We will rejoice in your salvation” where we read,
We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners:
the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
The verse begins, “We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners:” David began with the words, “We will rejoice” which means “we, David and those reading and listening to his words, shall cry out and shout for joy with a ringing cry” “in your salvation” or “within your, Jehovah God's, deliverance, prosperity, welfare and health”, “and in the name of our God” which means “and within the reputation, fame and glory belonging to our, David and the people reading and listening to his words, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “we will set up our banners” or “we, David and the people reading and listening to his words, shall raise up and look upon the standard and flag of David and those listening to him”. David said that he and the people reading his words and listening to them would not only shout for joy for Jehovah God's deliverance, but also raise their flags which represent their standards according to His reputation and glory.
The verse continues, “the LORD fulfill all your petitions.” David added the words, “the LORD fulfill” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God make full, abundant, accomplished and satisfied” “all your petitions” which means “each, every and the whole requests and desires of the people reading and listening to David's words”. David desired that Jehovah God make abundant and full every request and desire of the people listening to him and reading his words.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how David knew being joyful in Jehovah God's deliverance and in His “name” would cause the people to react by raising their flags to Him and His standards. David desired that Jehovah God accomplish and satisfy all the desires of the people as well. God loves people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world so every person who believes and trusts in Him as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with Him. Let us “rejoice” in Jehovah God's “salvation”, raise up the flags of His standard and allow Him to accomplish everything He desires for us according to His perfect purpose and will.
Next time David says, “Now know I that the LORD saves his anointed”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
