Psalms chapter thirty four begins with the heading, “[[A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.]]” which breaks down, “A Psalm” or “a melody or poem set to notes” “of David” which means “belonging to David whose name means blessed and was the second king of Israel”, “when he changed his behavior” or “at the time and moment he, David, altered and disguised his intelligence, discretion, judgment and reason” “before Abimelech” which means “in front and in the presence of Abimelech whose name means Melek is king or my father is king and was the title of a Philistine king who was Achish”; “who drove him away” or “who expelled, tossed and cast out David”, “and he departed” which means “and he, David, proceeded, moved, walked and traversed away” (See 1 Samuel 21:12-15), and in chapter thirty four and verse one of Psalms David wrote, “I will bless the LORD at all times” where we read,
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
The verse begins, “I will bless the LORD at all times:” David began with the words, “I will bless” which means “I, David, shall kneel, adore, salute and praise” “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “at all times” which means “in totality, with everything and the whole of opportunities”. David said he would adore and praise Jehovah God in every opportunity and occasion of his life.
The verse goes on to say, “his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” David continued with the words, “his praise” or “his, Jehovah God's, song, hymn, adoration and thanksgiving” “shall continually be in my mouth” which means “will perpetually, continuously and constantly exist within my, David's, orifice for eating and speaking”. David said a hymn and song of adoration and thanksgiving would exist within his “mouth” constantly and continuously.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David adored, praised and gave thanksgiving all the time and continuously. David escaped the hand of “Achish” who was the Philistine king, and this caused him to break out in a song or hymn of praise and adoration to Jehovah God. David knew Jehovah God delivered him, and God is willing to eternally deliver and rescue every person who yields themselves to His Son Jesus. God loves us, and when we believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cause us to adore and praise Him for all eternity.
Next time David says, “My soul shall make her boast in the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
