In Psalms chapter thirty five David appealed to Jehovah God to, “Stir up yourself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. Judge me, O LORD my God, according to your righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me. Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up. Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at my hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me. Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yes, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant”, and in chapter thirty-five and verse twenty-eight of Psalms, David told Jehovah God, “my tongue shall speak of your righteousness” where we read,
And my tongue shall speak of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.
The verse begins, “And my tongue shall speak of your righteousness ...” David began with the words, “And my tongue” which means “and my, David's, organ of speech” “shall speak of your righteousness” or “will utter, declare and proclaim pertaining to your, Jehovah God's, justice, rightness, deliverance, victory and prosperity”. David said his “tongue” used for speech would proclaim and declare Jehovah God's deliverance, victory and prosperity.
The verse goes on to say, “... and of your praise all the day long.” David continued with the words, “and of your praise” or “and belonging to your, Jehovah God's, song or hymn of adoration, thanksgiving, fame and glory” “all the day long” which means “throughout the whole and totality of the twenty four hour period”. David shared how he would sing and make declarations of adoration, thanksgiving, fame and glory to Jehovah God all throughout the “day”.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David breaks out in praise with song and words to Jehovah God, and his adoration of Him would endure throughout the “day”. We have an opportunity to receive God's Son Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, and when we understand He died for our sins and provided forgiveness for all who yield to Him, our praise and honor should rise toward Jehovah God all day long for His provision for us. God loves us, and we will spend not just the day, but all eternity giving honor, glory and praise to Jehovah God.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “there is no fear of God before his eyes”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
