In Psalms chapter thirty three David wrote, “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth”, and in chapter thirty three and verse seven of Psalms David said, “He gathers the waters of the sea together” where we read,
He gathers the waters of the sea together as an heap: he lays up the depth in storehouses.
The verse begins, “He gathers the waters of the sea together as an heap:” David began with the words, “He gathers the waters” which means “He, Jehovah God, collects, assembles and wraps up the water floods, springs and courses” “of the sea together” or “pertaining to the large bodies of water enfolded, wrapped up and collected” “as an heap” which means “like a pile, mound or wave”. David said Jehovah God assembles and collects the waters of the world like a mound or wave.
The verse goes on to say, “he lays up the depth in storehouses.” David continued with the words, “he lays up” or “he, Jehovah God, gives, sets, puts, appoints, assigns and constitutes” “the depth in storehouses” which means “the deep places of the seas, oceans and abysses into treasure houses, garners, armories or depositories”. David wrote how Jehovah God assigns and constitutes the deep places of the oceans and seas into treasure houses or depositories.
When we consider the words in this verse, we discover how David turned His attention toward the power of Jehovah God over the oceans, seas and bodies of water in the world. God can easily assemble them in the palm of His hand (See Isaiah 40:12), and He appoints them to treasure houses and depositories as He desires. This same God, who created, made and manages everything, desires to have a personal relationship with us. He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for our sins, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. This Creator God loves us, and His desire is not only for us to know His abilities, but also His willingness to enter our lives to be our “Savior and Lord”.
Next time David says, “Let all the earth fear the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
